    MODESTO (CBS13) – A man died in police custody after a struggle with deputies in Modesto, authorities say.
    The incident happened Saturday morning in the parking lot of the Country Girl Truck Stop along South 7th Street in Modesto. According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, 38-year-old Modesto resident Alejandro Sanchez flagged down some deputies for help.

    ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Police in Elk Grove say they’re on alert about people driving recklessly in the city.
    According to the Elk Grove Police Department, they’ve been fielding several complaints about reckless driving and racing near the Florin Road and Sheldon Road area.
    Friday night, officers spotted a car allegedly driving recklessly in that area. Officers were able to get the car to pull over; they then cited the driver and impounded the car.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Gas prices in Sacramento are 64 cents per gallon higher than a year ago at this time, according to GasBuddy.
    A gallon of regular currently averages $3.50 in Sacramento. Last year we paid an average of $2.85. In 2016 we paid $2.69.
    GasBuddy says Stockton drivers are currently paying an average of $3.51 for a gallon of regular. In Modesto it’s $3.47.

    Wally Delton walling just celebrated his 97th birthday at Skydive Lodi Parachute Center over the weekend.

    GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) – There’s still no sign of a missing veteran, days after the discovery of his car.

    SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Investigators are looking into what sparked a deadly four-plex fire in Sacramento County Sunday night.
    Firefighters responded to the scene on El Cajon Way, near La Quinta Drive, around 10:30 p.m.

  • Strike Could Affect Some Patients At UC Davis Medical Center

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Tens of thousands of UC employees across the state are planning on walking out of their jobs Monday.
    That includes employees at the UC Davis Medical Center.
