    November Unemployment Number Falls To 5.3 Percent In California
    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – California’s unemployment rate fell to 5.3 percent in November.
    The state Employment Development Department says that’s down from 5.5 percent in October and from 5.9 percent in November 2015.
    The department says the state’s employers added 13,600 nonfarm payroll jobs last month.
    Nationwide, the unemployment rate fell to a nine-year low of 4.6 percent last month.

    MODESTO (CBS13) – Police are investigating a shooting in Modesto that stemmed from what officer say was a family disturbance.
    Officers were called to Coffee Road near Sylvan Meadows Drive just before 11 p.m. Thursday night on reports or a shooting.
    They say a 27-year-old unidentified man was shot after he reportedly broke through the front door of a home.
    He was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.
    So far, no arrests have been made.

    FOLSOM (CBS13) — A high speed chase ended in a fatal crash when a driver slammed into a building in old town Folsom.

    WOODLAND (CBS13) — Two small earthquakes shook Yolo County near Woodland on Thursday.
    The first was a magnitude-3.1 near Cottonwood, west of Woodland at around 3:49 p.m. The second one, a magnitude-2.5, struck three minutes later.

    Suspected DUI Crash Kills Man In Sacramento County
    SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) — A man has died after a high-speed crash in the North Highlands area.
    The California Highway Patrol says a man was driving at a high-rate of speed when he came on a sweeping curve on Roseville Road near Elkhorn Boulevard at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
    The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected when his car hit a light pole, a curb, then flipped into a rod iron fence.
