    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The leader of the California Senate wants to bar police from sharing information with federal deportation agents about immigrants being released from custody.
    Democratic Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de Leon said Wednesday that he has introduced a bill to prevent law enforcement from heeding requests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to be notified when immigrants are being released from local jails.

    TUOLUMNE (CBS13) – A lost dog apparently knew exactly who would help him on a cold night in Tuolumne County.
    The sheriff’s office says early Wednesday morning, Deputy Hammell had pulled over a suspicious vehicle in the Tuolumne Market parking lot. He left the door of his patrol car open when he went to speak to the people in the car.

    STOCKTON (CBS13) – Police are investigating a shooting that left one teen dead.
    Just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to West Oak Street, just blocks from the downtown Stockton area, after reports a man had been shot.
    The person, only identified as a 17-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
