• New Hurricane Maria Growing Threat To Irma-Slammed Caribbean

    SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) — The islands of the eastern Caribbean prepared Sunday to face another potential disaster, with forecasters saying newly formed and likely to strengthen Hurricane Maria was headed for a hit on the Leeward Islands by Monday night.
    Hurricane or tropical storm warnings were posted for many of the islands already coping with the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma, including St. Barts and Antigua and Barbuda.

    DENVER (CBS4) – Broncos defensive tackle Domata Peko has the longest active starting streak for defensive tackles in the NFL.
    With his first play against the Dallas Cowboys, Peko started in his 114th straight game.

    BOULDER, Colo. (AP) – Penny Chenery, who bred and raced 1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat as well as realizing her ailing father’s dream to win the Kentucky Derby in 1972 with Riva Ridge, has died. She was 95.
    Chenery died Saturday in her Boulder, Colorado, home following complications from a stroke, according to her children. They announced her death Sunday through Leonard Lusky, her longtime friend and business partner.

    BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)– Residents in Brighton are coming together in an effort to rebuild after a massive fire tore through several businesses.
