    DENVER (AP) — The board that oversees Colorado state pensions is recommending higher contributions from employees and taxpayers and cuts to retirees’ benefits, saying the changes are necessary to shore up the underfunded system.

    JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – The man who died in a deputy-involved shooting Thursday has been identified.
    The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says Austin Dunsmore, 25, was shot and killed by a deputy in Chatfield Avenue and Kipling Parkway.

    GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) – A man faced a judge Friday after being accused of abusing his girlfriend’s young daughter.
    Joshua Gonzales turned himself into authorities Sunday night.

    DENVER (AP) — A federal appeals court on Thursday sidestepped a decision on whether oil and gas regulations enacted by the Obama administration are legal, noting that the current administration plans to rescind them.
    The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver said it would be a waste of time to rule on the regulations, which govern hydraulic fracturing on federal lands, because the Trump administration has already begun the process of revoking them.
