    BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)– The University of Colorado student accused in a deadly stabbing will not face more severe charges as prosecutors had hoped.
    Ian Scheuermann is suspected of stabbing Sean Hudson to death just after 2 a.m. Saturday at the northeast corner of Broadway and Walnut Street in downtown Boulder.
    Scheuermann, 22, appeared in court on Thursday afternoon. He has said the stabbing was in self defense.

    CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) – A judge has ordered a mental evaluation for one of two 16-year-old girls arrested on suspicion of plotting to harm students and staff at their Highlands Ranch high school.
    District attorney’s spokeswoman Michelle Yi says one of the girls appeared in court Thursday and was ordered held without bail.
    Few details of the allegations have been released. Officials say the target was Mountain Vista High School.

    DENVER (AP) – A man imprisoned for 28 years after a woman said she dreamed that he raped her could be freed after a Denver judge overturned his conviction, saying he would likely be acquitted at a new trial because someone else confessed to the crime.
