JemmaPage published REVIEW: Paddy McGuinness, Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall
It has been five years since Bolton's Paddy McGuinness last stopped-off in Nottingham. And since then, the funny-man has made a name for himself by playing cupid on ITV's dating show Take Me Out. Being a 20-something, I'm more used to 'no likey-no lighty' than 'ding dang doo'. But the 42-year-old appealed to his entire fan base, young and old, as he babbled on about the joys of parenthood. The comic kicked-off the night by bounding through the audience and chatted to us like we were his... -
Nottingham Post published Another 50 for Alex Hales but England lose thriller to set up...
Alex Hales hit a fourth straight one day half century for England, but they lost a thrilling game with South Africa to set up a series decider. The Notts man made exactly 50, but was out the next ball to former county team-mate Imran Tahir, sparking a collapse. However, Joe Root hit a brilliant eighth ODI century to take England to 262. The game went to the wire with Notts' Stuart Broad leading the attack, but South Africa won by one wicket with 2.2 overs to go, tying the series at... -
Nottingham Post published Now we must 'put teams to the sword', says Nottingham Forest...
Now they have mastered the art of being hard to beat, Dougie Freedman wants Nottingham Forest to take the "next step" on by finding their ruthless streak and putting opposition sides to the sword. The Reds will look to make it 14 games unbeaten and to notch up a fifth consecutive clean sheet in the Championship, when Huddersfield visit the City Ground today. The foundation for that run has been a stoic sense of discipline and organisation and a defence that is increasingly... -
Nottingham Post published Notts County boss Jamie Fullarton cautious of York City task
Jamie Fullarton says Notts County must not be fooled by rock-bottom York City's precarious league position. The Magpies travel to Bootham Crescent on Saturday looking to continue theirfine recent away record and deepen the Minstermen's plight at the foot of League Two. York are four points adrift of safety with the odds on relegation to the National League increasing by the week. But boss Fullarton remains cautious of the challenge that lies ahead, despite having won two out of two away... -

Nottingham Forest skipper Henri Lansbury is 'ahead of schedule' in his recovery from ankle ligament damage. The midfielder has been sidelined since picking up the injury in the Reds' 1-0 victory over QPR in the FA Cup early last month. "The injury is well ahead of schedule and it's feeling great," Lansbury told The... -
Nottmtails published Nottingham Forest will give Nelson Oliveira license to shoot on...
Nelson Oliveira will only get stronger for Nottingham Forest, says boss Dougie Freedman – who revealed that he has told the striker he has a license to shoot on sight. The Portugal international took his tally for the campaign to eight goals by netting the winner in the 1-0 victory at Leeds. And Freedman believes Oliveira will 'comfortably' get into double figures, as he feels there is still plenty more to come from the 24-year-old, who is on loan from Benfica. "There is still... -
