A man who died after he was struck by a lorry has been named by Nottinghamshire Police. Gavan O'Neill, who was 38 and lived in Gedling, was killed on Friday morning after the collision on Colwick Loop road at around 6.30am. The A612 between Racecourse Island and Vale Road was closed until 2pm whilst police carried out their investigation. The force are still asking for any witnesses to the crash come forward and cal them on 101. -

Police are investigating gunshots after residents claimed to hear them in an Eastwood Street. Armed officers rushed to the scene in Comet Close shortly after 8pm on Valentine's Day. No weapons were found at the scene, but a window had been damaged. No-one was injured.
