Multiple roads cordoned off in Harrow as residents reportedly told to stay indoors

Multiple roads have been cordoned off in Harrow this evening following a police incident.
Police were called to the area at around 9:30pm on Sunday, September 20.
Fisher Road and Curzon Avenue are among the roads currently cordoned off, with officers remaining at the scene.
Residents reportedly told to remain indoors
Two people living in the area have told Harrow Online that residents have been asked to remain inside their homes while the police operation continues.

The George pub in Harrow Town Centre to close today

The George pub in Harrow Town Centre is set to close today, Sunday 20 September, with the venue expected to shut its doors at 5pm.
Harrow Online understands the Station Road pub will cease trading this afternoon. Staff at the venue said they had been informed they “won’t be back” after today’s closure.

Burnt Oak Leisure Centre gets 220 solar panels in project expected to save £36,000

Burnt Oak Leisure Centre has become the first council-owned building to host a community solar installation.
A total of 220 solar panels have been fitted to the roof of the leisure centre, with more than 70% of the electricity they generate expected to be used on site.
The 101.2kWp system is expected to save around £36,000 in energy costs and 241 tonnes of carbon over its estimated 20-year lifetime. The building will still use electricity from the national grid when needed.
