  Harrow’s community heroes were celebrated on Wednesday evening as volunteers, residents and local groups were recognised at the Harrow’s Heroes 2026 awards.
  The ceremony was held on September 16 at the Great Barn at Headstone Manor, with awards presented to people making a difference across the borough, from supporting vulnerable residents and improving local parks to helping young people and giving decades of voluntary service.

• Post Office and TG Jones in St Anns Shopping Centre to close in January

  TG Jones in St Anns Shopping Centre in Harrow Town Centre is set to close early next year, along with the Post Office branch located inside the store.
  Harrow Online understands that both the shop and the Post Office will close on Saturday 9 January 2027. A sale is expected to start at the store tomorrow, Friday 18th September.
  The store is located at Unit 14 in St Anns Shopping Centre, close to the College Road entrance and next to Primark.

  Plans are beginning to take shape for a major housing development of up to 325 homes on land at Joel Street Farm in Northwood Hills, close to the Harrow border.
  The site covers around 10.8 hectares of grazing land and is currently made up of open fields used for horses. It sits around 500 metres south of Northwood Hills local centre, with Joel Street running along its western side.
