• Vlade Divac Elected To NBA Hall Of Fame

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento Kings General Manager Vlade Divac is heading to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
  Divac is one of 12 elected to this year’s Hall of Fame.
  As a player, Divac spent 16 seasons in the NBA. He was drafted 26th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1989. In 1996, he was traded by the Lakers to the Charlotte Hornets for Kobe Bryant. He spent two seasons in Charlotte before joining the Sacramento Kings in 1998.

  SUISUN CITY (CBS13) – Flames shot through the roof of a vacant building in Suisun City. The building was destroyed and part of the comic book store next door collapsed.
  A comic book store owner is grateful and feels lucky that his business, and most importantly, his family, is safe.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A bus driver has been arrested after a bizarre trip through Sacramento on Friday night.
  The driver was operating an Amtrak bus with passengers on board when he reportedly started driving erratically — possibly under the influence, according to police.
  He let the passengers off at 5th and P streets, then drove to Elk Grove, and then headed back to Sacramento to the Sacramento Valley Amtrak station where he was taken into police custody.

  PLACERVILLE (CBS13) — Deputy Lane, of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, responded to an unusual call recently.

  SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A federal judge on Friday halted sales of high-capacity ammunition magazines in California, giving state officials a chance to appeal his order last week that allowed their sale for the first time in nearly 20 years.

• Coroner: Bones Found At Downtown Construction Site Not Human

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Bone fragments unearthed in Downtown Sacramento on Tuesday belonged to an animal, not a human, say experts.
  Crews found the bones after lifting up some concrete near 12th and J streets. The remains were taken to the county coroner’s office where it determined the bones belong to an animal.

• Modesto Police Searching For Carjacking Suspect

  MODESTO (CBS13) – Police in Modesto are searching for a man who was allegedly involved in a carjacking back in February.
  The suspect is 21-year-old Ramon Brown, according to a Modesto Police Department statement.

  FAIR OAKS (CBS13) — San Juan Unified School District released renderings of a new building at Del Campo High School on Friday.

  The building will sit at the entrance to the Fair Oaks campus and include a welcome plaza. Inside, the building will house science classrooms and a media common space.

  ORANGEVALE (CBS13) — Nine baby opossums are being cared for by Gold Country Wildlife Rescue after being found in Orangevale.
  The animal rescue organization says the animals were located on their dead mother on someone’s deck.ALSO: Front Street Shelter Waiving Adoption Fees Through Sunday
  Gold Country Wildlife Rescue says it will blend the babies in with others they are already caring for.
