    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A red-shouldered hawk is recovering after it was shot in Sacramento.
    The hawk is now in the care of the Gold Country Wildlife Rescue.

    Veterinarians removed the bullet from the bird’s wing.
    The person who shot the bird has reportedly been cited by the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

  • Suspected Auto Thief Dies In High-Speed Chase In Sacramento

    SACRAMENTO (AP) — A woman driving a stolen car has died after leading police on a high-speed chase in Sacramento and hitting a pole.
    Police said in a statement that a patrol officer began pursuing the Toyota Camry Saturday morning after seeing the driver speeding on a street and making erratic lane changes.
    Police said the woman drove onto Interstate 5 and sped up as he tried to pull her over. The chase continued through another freeway and several surface streets before the driver struck
