  • Fallen CHP Officer Honored In West Sacramento Bell-Toll Ceremony

    WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – California Highway Patrol officers gathered Monday morning in West Sacramento for a bell toll tribute ceremony to honor the CHP  motorcycle officer who was hit and killed in Southern California over the weekend.
    Authorities say Sargeant Steve Licon was in the process of writing a traffic ticket for a driver he had pulled over when he and that vehicle, were hit by 36-year-old driver Michael Callahan.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Sacramento will host the 2nd Annual California Classic Summer League for rookies, 2nd year players, and those looking to make NBA and G league teams.

  • ‘Additional Information’ Presented In Case Of Playboy Model Suspected Of Killing Psychiatrist

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Former Playboy model Kelsey Turner was in court Monday for an extradition hearing in connection with the murder of a California psychiatrist who was found dead in Nevada.
    Turner was arrested in Stockton on March 21 after the body of 71-year-old Dr. Thomas Kirk Burchard was found bludgeoned to death east of Las Vegas. Police believe Burchard was attacked in his Mercedes then his body was moved to the trunk of the car and was left two miles down a dirt road.

  • Woman Shot In South Sacramento

    SOUTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A woman is recovering after she was shot in South Sacramento on Sunday night.
    The shooting happened shortly after 9 p.m. in the 1300 block of Florin Road, according to a Sacramento Police Department statement.
    Although the extent of the woman’s injuries is unknown, we know the woman is listed in stable condition.

    The big rig appears to have collided with a Cadillac SUV before turning over.

  • Overturned Big Rig Blocked Lanes Of Eastbound I-80 At Madison Avenue

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A crash involving a big rig and another vehicle caused the eastbound Interstate 80 to be closed at Madison Avenue on Monday.
    The two vehicles, a Cadillac SUV and the big rid collided, causing the big rig to flip over on its side. Neither driver was injured in the crash.
