• California May Require Full-Day Kindergarten In All Districts

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – All California school districts would need to have full-day kindergarten by the 2021-22 school year if a new bill becomes law.
  Currently, districts who offer kindergarten can enroll children in a half-day program. Assembly Bill 197 would change that by requiring districts to provide a “full‑day kindergarten (that) is the same number of minutes per schoolday that is offered to pupils in 1st grade.”

• Sacramento Family Looking For Mystery Person Who Paid For Birthday Cake, Left Touching Card

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A family is asking for help in finding a mystery person who paid for a birthday cake in a random act of kindness.
  Daniel Moorhouse said he was celebrating his son’s birthday over the weekend. He ordered a cake at the Safeway store on Arden Way and went to pick it up on Sunday.
  That’s when he found out the cake had already been paid for.

• Tanker Truck Carrying Jet Fuel Crashes Off I-80 Near Dutch Flat, Driver Killed

  DUTCH FLAT (CBS13) – Authorities are investigating a deadly tanker truck crash off Interstate 80 in the high country Monday morning.
  The scene is off the eastbound side of the freeway, near Dutch Flat Road, about 25 miles east of Auburn.
  California Highway Patrol confirms at least one person has died in the crash, which was first reported just before 6 a.m.

• Memorial Service For Slain Officer Natalie Corona Set For Friday At UC Davis

  DAVIS (CBS13) – Funeral plans have been announced for slain Davis police officer Natalie Corona.
  Officials say the memorial service is set for Friday at 11 a.m. at the UC Davis ARC conference center.
  Sunday, a procession led Officer Corona’s body from the Yolo County coroner’s office in Woodland to a funeral home.
  An honor guard has been with her body since her death.

• 2 Cars Crash Into Stockton House

  STOCKTON (CBS13) – A house in Stockton was damaged early Monday morning after two cars crashed into it.
  At least one of the cars involved reportedly drove off the Monte Diablo Avenue off ramp from northbound Interstate 5 and crashed into the home.
  The other car ended up in the yard.
  It’s unclear, at this point, exactly what caused the two cars to crash off the road and onto the property.
