    PHILLIPS STATION (CBS13/AP) – Storms hitting at the end of California’s rainy season have eased the state’s plunge back into drought.

  • PG&E Implementing ‘Time Of Use’ Billing Structure

    DAVIS (CBS13) – Starting Monday, some PG&E customers may see electricity costs increase certain times during the day.
    It’s called “time of use” billing, which charges more – or less – for electricity based on when you use it.
    About 150,000 PG&E customers have been randomly selected to try it out. They can choose between two options: peak pricing from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. That’s when their energy will cost the most.

  • Suspects Pry Open Front Door, Burglarize Vacaville Nike Outlet Store

    VACAVILLE (CBS13) – Authorities are looking for the suspects who broke into and burglarized the Nike Factory Store last week.
    The incident happened at the Vacaville Premium Outlets during early morning hours. Vacaville police say the suspects managed to pry open the front doors of the store to get inside.
    Hundreds of dollars of merchandise was stolen, police say.

  • Does Sacramento Deputy Face Charges After Patrol Car Strikes Activist?

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Attorney Guy Danilowitz was at the center of the chaos that broke out Saturday night as Wanda Cleveland, a protestor, was knocked to the ground by a Sacramento County sheriff’s vehicle.
    This video was recorded by Danilowitz on his cell phone. He and a group of attorneys from the National Lawyers Guild were at Saturday night’s protest to monitor police behavior.

  • Person Killed In Fiery Crash On Highway 99

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – One person was killed in a crash along Highway 99 early Monday morning.
    The scene was on northbound SR-99 near Broadway. California Highway Patrol says the crash happened just before 3 a.m.
    Officers say a car, for an unknown reason at this point, overturned then caught fire. A person inside was killed in the crash.
    The Broadway offramp was closed for a time, but has since been reopened.
  • Boy, 11, Dies After Falling Into Canal Near Meadow Vista

    MEADOW VISTA (CBS13) – An 11-year-old boy has been found dead after falling into a canal Sunday evening.
    The search began on Sunday at a PG&E canal off Crother Road in Meadow Vista.
    A dive team from Placer County and a helicopter were involved in the search. Cal Fire crews also helped with the search.
    Later Sunday night, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office announced that the boy had been found dead.

  • SUV Smashes Into Pizza Restaurant On Arden Way

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A driver plows his SUV through the storefront window of a Round Table Pizza on Arden Way and walked away uninjured.
    It happened Sunday evening. Store manager Roger Saini says he was inside working with staff when he heard what sounded like an explosion and they quickly took cover.
    ”It was just crazy. Like I said, it was like a bomb going off. And we all ducked and then saw the car just come rolling through” Saini said.
