• Boy, 13, Rescued After Falling Through Thin Ice At Tahoe Area Lake

  SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS13) – A boy was rescued after falling through thin ice on Lake Baron, authorities say.
  The incident happened Wednesday afternoon. According to the Lake Valley Fire Protection District, the 13-year-old was out on Lake Baron at Tahoe Paradise Park with his bicycle when he hit a patch of thinning ice.
  Both the boy and his bicycle fell through. He began shouting for help and bystanders quickly called 911.

  PLACERVILLE (CBS13) – An 11-year-old Sacramento boy was killed after a car crash near Placerville early Wednesday morning.
  The scene was on Highway 50, west of Riverton Court. California Highway Patrol says a 2001 BMW was heading west on the freeway just when just after midnight the driver lost control when he hit a curve.

  STANISLAUS COUNTY (CBS13) – A 32-year-old Tracy woman has died after a crash in rural Stanislaus County late Wednesday night.
  California Highway Patrol says the woman was heading north Highway 33 near Orchard Road, south of Vernalis, around 11:30 p.m. when she apparently made an unsafe turn towards the shoulder. The move caused her car to drift into the gravel shoulder.

• Lodi Police Buy New Robot Using Funds Donated By Foundation

  LODI (CBS13) – The Lodi Police Department welcomed a new member to the force on Wednesday: a mini-caliber robot.
  Police say the robot is designed to be a tool for the explosive ordinance disposal team, as well as a way for officers to deploy and search homes to keep officers out of harm’s way.

  ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – A 33-year-old Roseville man is under arrest after he allegedly used Snapchat to lure a teenage girl to his home to have sex with her.
  Roseville police say Christopher Dean Martin used the social media app to strike up a friendship with an underage girl.

  STOCKTON (CBS13) — A pastor in Stockton is behind bars for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl.
  Oscar Rodriguez, 51, was arrested by Stockton police on Friday. Police aren’t confirming whether the victim is a parishioner at the pastor’s church.

• Fire Destroys Homewood Mountain Resort Lodge Near Lake Tahoe

  HOMEWOOD (CBS13) — A ski resort was left looking like a ghost town on Wednesday after a fire destroyed one of the resort’s lodges.
