    REDDING (CBS13/AP) – A California sheriff says the abductors of a woman who was held captive for three weeks branded her with a message before she was released.
    Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko told “Good Morning America” on Wednesday that the suspects may have been trying to humiliate Sherri Papini by cutting off her long blonde hair and branding her.

    STOCKTON (CBS13) – Authorities have arrested a man suspected in a fatal shooting in Stockton over the weekend.
    The shooting happened late Sunday night. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the 2800 block of North E Street and found a shooting victim.

    Man Injured After Package He Opened Exploded; Authorities Believe He Was Targeted
    PHILADELPHIA (CBS13) – A man originally from Modesto is recovering from injuries he suffered when a package he got exploded.
    Philadelphia authorities say the man, 60-year-old Jim Alden, opened a package Tuesday morning. The package then exploded, leaving Alden with hand and chest injuries.
    Alden is currently at a hospital recovering from his injuries.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A Cirque du Soleil worker was killed in an accident before a show in San Francisco.
