    DENVER (AP) — Ian Desmond will play shortstop for the first time in nearly two years Monday for the Colorado Rockies.
    Desmond hasn’t played the position since Oct. 4, 2015, while with the Washington Nationals. He was an outfielder for the Texas Rangers last season. While with the Rockies this season he has played left field or first base.

    SAINT-AIGNAN-SUR-CHER, France (CBS4) – A zoo in France is celebrating a ball of fluffy cuteness.
    Their baby panda is now a month old.
    The zoo released a timeline of his growth in the past month, from a tiny fur-less bear being cared for by humans, to the little guy now in his mother’s arms.His mom, Huan Hua, and her partner, Yuan Zi, are on a ten-year loan from China.
    There are only about 1,800 pandas in the wild in China, and about 400 in captivity.

    SCOTTBLUFF, Neb. (AP) — An airline providing government-subsidized service to three Nebraska and two Kansas cities plans to end the flights later this month.

    ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – A man is in critical condition at Swedish Medical Center following an early morning home invasion.

    BLACK ROCK CITY, Nev. (CBS4) – A Nevada sheriff says the man who ran into the flames at the Burning Man festival’s signature burning ceremony has died.

  • Broncos Add 9 Players To Practice Squad

    ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – The Denver Broncos added nine players to their practice squad on Sunday.
    The most notable name is one that’s not there in former quarterback Kyle Sloter, who signed with the Minnesota Vikings to play on their practice squad.
    Staticstically, Sloter was Denver’s top performing quarterback in the preseason. He completed 72 percent of his passes, including three for touchdown, against zero interceptions. His quarterback rating was a team-best 125.4.
