  • Cherry Cricket Announces April Reopening

    DENVER (CBS4) – The Cherry Cricket is reopening.
    The restaurant made the announcement on their Facebook page Tuesday, saying that construction is wrapping up and their grand reopening is right around the corner.The exact date, they say, is still TBD, though, and they ask guests to check back on their Facebook page for an announcement.
    The Cricket has been closed since a kitchen fire forced everyone in the restaurant to evacuate at the end of November.

    Paul Brennan has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery with a gun.

  • Coroner: Female Fetus Found In Container Inside Dumpster

    DENVER (CBS4) – The Denver coroner has completed an autopsy on the remains of a female found inside a dumpster in Lowry on Sunday.
    According to the coroner, the body of the female fetus was found inside a container in the dumpster at 8001 East 11th Avenue on Sunday.
    The autopsy was completed but the cause and manner of death were not released pending investigation.
    No arrests have been made.

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Colorado Rockies catcher Tom Murphy will miss four to six weeks with a hairline fracture in his right forearm.
    Manager Bud Black said Murphy broke his arm Saturday in a game against the Cubs when he was hit by Anthony Rizzo’s bat while throwing to second base on a steal attempt.The ball sailed into center field and Rizzo was called for interference.     HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. (CBS4) – The Animal Adventure Park is getting slammed by winter storm Stella.
    The park posted on Facebook Tuesday afternoon, saying that “current totals are easily over 2′, snow drifts achieving 4-5′.”

    FOUNTAIN, Colo. (CBS4)– Deputies in El Paso County are investigating the deaths of two teenagers found near the side of the road near Fountain over the weekend.
    Investigators say the victims were a teen boy and a teen girl identified as Derek Benjamin Greer, 15, and Natalie Partida, 16.

  • Chevron Cleaning Up Pipeline Oil Spill In NW Colorado

    RANGELY, Colo. (AP) — Chevron Corp. says its crews are cleaning up about 4,800 gallons of oil that spilled from a failed pipeline into an intermittent stream on public land in northwestern Colorado.
    State officials said Tuesday that the oil travelled about 2 miles downstream along an unnamed tributary of Stinking Water Creek in Rio Blanco County.
    Officials say two ducks covered in oil were found at the spill site. There were conflicting reports on whether the animals survived.

    DENVER (AP) — A state Senate committee has passed a bill to modernize Colorado’s Open Records Act — but left intact a provision that could prove troublesome for the legislation.
    The Appropriations Committee voted 4-3 Tuesday to refer the bill to the Senate floor for debate.
    Democratic Sen. John Kefalas’ bill would require state agencies to provide public records to citizens in computer-friendly formats that, in most cases, can be easily delivered and analyzed.

    BENNETT, Colo. (CBS4)– An Adams County Sheriff’s deputy who was injured in a crash on Interstate 70 pulled a driver from a burning car.
