    The elephant was in declining health because of her age. Zoo officials said Saturday she was at least 50 years old.
    Dolly was born in southeast Asia and was transferred to the Denver Zoo in 1990.
    The zoo has three other Asian elephants.

    PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) – The v’s Office says a man was shot and killed in a Colorado State Fair parking lot late Friday.
    Investigators say it was a drive-by shooting and witnesses heard several gunshots. Several vehicles were seen fleeing the area.
    No motive for the shooting has been established and the victim’s name has not been released.
    Officers were on patrol at the fairground and found the man with a gunshot wound when they responded.

    Lester Jones was arrested in November 2014 for the June 2007 murder of Birgfeld.

    DENVER (CBS4)– A community gathered on Friday afternoon to honor a teenager who died in a tragic crash earlier this summer.
    Cole Sukle was riding a skateboard in a bike lane near Yale Avenue and Madison on July 13 when he was struck by a car. Police say 81-year-old Patricia Livingston had been drinking. Livingston was taken to the hospital but died 10 days after the crash.

    DENVER (AP) — The top section of the highway to the summit of Mount Evans is closing for the season after the Labor Day weekend.
    The Colorado Department of Transportation said Friday the 5-mile stretch from Summit Lake to the 14,264-foot peak will be shut down on Tuesday.
    The lower segment will stay open until early October if the weather permits.
    The highway usually reopens for the summer season on the Friday before Memorial Day.
