    DENVER (CBS4) – The Department of Corrections won’t say where convicted Aurora theater shooting killer James Holmes is now being imprisoned, but a document turned over by the attorney general’s office to prosecutors reveals Holmes is in solitary confinement in a maximum security prison in another state.

    A Colorado-developed spacecraft designed to follow, study and briefly touch a large asteroid with an orbit near Earth is set to take off Thursday evening from Cape Canaveral in Florida.

    Officials at Pueblo Chemical Depot said they put the plant into operation on Wednesday.
    The plant will destroy about 780,000 artillery shells filled with mustard agent under an international treaty. The Army said previously it planned to start this week.

    Police: Kidnappers Held Victim For 5 Days, Demanded Ransom
    LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – Three men are under arrest and another is at large and considered armed and dangerous in a Lakewood kidnapping case. The suspects in the case demanded ransom for the safe exchange of the 27-year-old man they kidnapped. That man — Andres Flores-Paredes — is now safe.

    Carjacker Crashes Stolen Van, Flees In Another Stolen Vehicle
    NORTHGLENN, Colo. (CBS4) – The search is on for a man who carjacked a driver only to crash the vehicle a few minutes later.
    The suspect first tried to steal a van at the Best Buy located at 104th Avenue and Interstate 25 Wednesday afternoon. When employees got involved, police say the man ran off and stole another vehicle at knife point.
