    Washington’s National Zoo’s giant panda Mei Xiang has given birth
    WASHINGTON — Washington’s National Zoo says its female giant panda has given birth to a cub.
    According to the National Zoo, a panda team has confirmed that the giant panda’s water broke Saturday afternoon.

    Zoo spokeswoman Pamela Baker-Masson says that panda Mei Xiang appeared to go into labor Saturday.
    Mei Xiang’s first cub, Tai Shan, was born in 2005. Her second cub, Bao Bao, turns 2 on Sunday. A second, stillborn cub was also born in 2013.

    Police arrest suspect in death of young Hartford mom
    HARTFORD–Around 11:30 p.m. on Friday police made an arrest in the disappearance and death of 23-year-old Tashauna Jackson.
    Around 9 p.m. Bloomfield Police reported that an arrest warrant had been issued for Robert Lee Graham, 59, of Hartford. He was charged with murder.
    Officers from both the Bloomfield and Hartford police departments went to Graham’s house to try to execute the arrest warrant, and the suspect was found hiding in his attic. He was taken into custody without incident.
