  KETCHIKAN, Alaska (AP) – A Ketchikan hospital has announced it will not have a general surgeon on staff for a week.
  The Ketchikan Daily News reports the PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center’s only general surgeon will be out from Monday through June 12. The hospital says patients in need of a general surgical procedure during that time period will be transported to another facility.   FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – Alaska officials say vandals caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to Fairbanks public park trails.
  Fairbanks North Star Borough officials say the vandals caused the damage by off-roading on a public park trail at Skyline Ridge Park not designed for vehicles.

  Anchorage police arrested a man after reports of him with a knife at Denali Towers.
  According to a Nixle alert that was sent out at 12:26 p.m., APD responded to the GCI facility located at the 2500 block of Denali Street at 11:04 Sunday morning.
  Police say he broke in building, threatened employees and caused significant damage inside — which also interrupted services across the state, including some 911 outages. Emergency 911 calls are still operable within the Municipality.

  An Anchorage man is in custody after reports of him threatening GCI employees with a weapon — that was believed to be knife — at Denali Towers, and causing significant damage to the facility.
  “At approximately 9:50 this morning, someone broke into the Denali Tower building,” according to a statement from GCI.

• Alaska Air National Guard welcomes HC-130J Combat King II to fleet

  The Alaska Air National Guard welcomed a brand new aircraft to its fleet Saturday.
  The HC-130J Combat King II arrived at noon. Two F-22 Raptors intercepted the plane and escorted it home to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
  The C-130 is used for search and rescue. It is the first of four new planes coming to Alaska, replacing older models. The Combat King II model features improved navigation, threat detection and countermeasures systems.

  Alaska State Troopers are investigating what they say appears to be a deadly construction accident.
  Troopers say they responded to a home off of Wasilla-Fishhook Road just after 9:30 Friday morning. They found 42-year-old Vyacheslav Palko unresponsive.
