Brexit will put pressure on budgets but marketers are well placed to cope

From the big question of what exactly our future relationship with the European Union will look like to the leadership vacuum within the Tory party and the outcome of the now lik -

Unilever CMO Keith Weed says there is now a whole generation of senior management that don’t understand digital
Weed said that there are marketers in their 30’s and 40’s that belong to a “lost generation”. They don’t necessarily have children old enough to get them interested in digital and they aren’t from a digital native era themselves.
He said that wherever you are in an organisation you need to “throw yourself into what is going on, live in the space and really understand what is going on in the world.”
Weed said that if marketers are not pre -

The world living differently
A digital revolution
Sustainability
He added that these trends should be linked together and a strategy put in place in order to “do first and talk later’, as he says that actions are what people are looking for.

Tasked with marketing Brexit on behalf of David Cameron, the CEO of consumer goods giant UK plc, the company’s marketers started with both qualitative and quantitative research. Everybody is totally missing the point of the Tesla-SolarCity deal (TSLA, SCTY)
Last week, Tesla announced that it was pursuing an acquisition of SolarCity, the troubled solar-panel leasing company that's run by Tesla CEO Elon Musk's cousin, Lyndon Rive.
And on Monday, SolarCity said that it formed a committee of independent directors to evaluate the deal.
That's because Musk is the largest single shareholder of both companies, and is the Chairman of SolarCity.
Holy conflict of interest!
