• Robocaller Coming From Your Area Code? California Lawmaker Takes Aim At ‘Neighbor Spoofing’

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A California legislator has introduced a bill that aims to stop scammers from being able to spoof their area codes.
    Monday, Sen. Ben Hueso introduced SB 208 in order to set a deadline for telecommunication providers to help stop the pestering calls.

  • Woman, 18, Hurt In Manteca Drive-By Shooting

    MANTECA (CBS13) – An 18-year-old woman is in critical condition after an apparent drive-by shooting in Manteca Sunday night.
    Manteca police say they responded to the 1500 block of Rosemary Court a little after 10:30 p.m. to investigate a drive-by shooting. At the scene, officers found that a young woman had been shot in the head.
    The woman was rushed to the hospital. Police say she was listed in critical condition.

    PLACERVILE (CBS13) – The latest round of wet weather is bringing some very low snow to Northern California.
    National Weather Service forecasts show that the foothills could see significant snow late Monday night into Tuesday. Exactly how much snow the foothills could see is not exactly clear, but the snow level could drop to the 1500’ level after midnight.

  • 5 Teens Linked To Tracy Wheel Thefts Where Cars Were Being Left On Blocks

    TRACY (CBS13) – Investigators say they have arrested five teenagers in connection to a string of car wheel thefts in Tracy recently.
    Tracy police say they have been investigating several incidents of cars having their wheels stolen, then being left on blocks.
    Early Monday morning, officers spotted a car believed to be linked to some of the thefts. That car was pulled over and, as a result, five people – including four minors – were arrested.

    STOCKTON (CBS13) – Police in Stockton say they are investigating a suspicious death at a gas station in the city Monday morning.
    The scene is at the Chevron gas station on Fremont and Filbert streets.

    ATLANTA (CBS SF / AP) — An Atlanta artist says a building with his mural of former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was destroyed days before the Super Bowl, so eight more are being made.
    The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports artist Fabian Williams says the building was torn down last week and was about a mile from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium that housed the Sunday’s Super Bowl. Williams says he doesn’t think it’s a coincidence that the removal coincided with the game.

    EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) — Detectives in El Dorado County have identified a suspect in the brutal murder of Helen McKinnney.
    He’s 26-year-old Tanner Seals.

    It happened on the 2300 block of Sandalwood Drive.

    On Friday night, a 34-year-old woman from the town of El Dorado died in a crash on Plesant Valley Road.
    On Saturday morning, a 21-year-old woman from Santa Cruz, who was the passenger in a car, died when it crashed on North Shingle Road.
