  CHICO (CBS13) – Some people who are displaced by the Camp Fire may be staying in temporary housing, while others are staying with friends and family.

  “It’s like oh, I’m on an extended visit with my son and his family and it’s like OK. We’re just going to pack up and go home. But wait…it’s not there,” said Karen Eppenbach.

  WEST PLAINFIELD (CBS13) – This year we saw the important role firefighters play in protecting our communities. Protecting communities runs deep for one family in particular at a volunteer fire station in Yolo County.
  “My family settled here in 1869,” said Ed Beoshanz.
  Ed, 78, has lived in Yolo County his entire life.
  “It’s home you know,” he said.
  Ed is a retired captain with the West Plainfield Fire Department and likes to tinker on vehicles.

  AUBURN (CBS13) – Christmas prayers from Camp Fire victims were answered in time for the big day.
  “It was the hardest thing because I didn’t think we were going to have a Christmas,” said Daniel Hansen.
  The couple and their daughter are from Magalia. What’s left of their property is toxic and they can’t return home.
  “We really didn’t have anything to give her for Christmas,” Hansen said.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Authorities say a DUI suspect led them on a short chase in Midtown Sacramento early Monday morning before crashing and killing the driver of another vehicle.
  Around 2:30 a.m., a CHP officer tried to pull over a driver on suspicion of DUI at 15th and L streets.
