    The Sacramento Fire Department says they responded to a two-story duplex on Piercy Way early Wednesday morning to douse a fire.

    COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Authorities say more than 25 pounds (11 kilograms) of marijuana were discovered in the car of a California man who crashed at a South Carolina airport.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A death investigation is blocking a busy Downtown Sacramento street Wednesday morning.
    The scene is at 5th and W streets.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Rep. Ami Bera will serve a fourth term in the US House of Representatives. The Democrat won his re-election bid Tuesday against Republican challenger Andrew Grant in California’s District 7.
    With 100 percent of precincts reporting Wednesday morning, Bera was declared the winner with 52.68 percent of the vote. Bera garnered a total of 54,097 votes, while Grant got 48,597 votes.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Eleni Kounalakis is California’s new Lieutenant Governor. She beat fellow Democrat Dr. Ed Hernandez to win office.
    With 97.2 percent of precincts reporting Wednesday morning, Kounalakis was declared the winter with 55.65 percent of the vote.
    Kounalakis is a former Ambassador to Hungary, where she served from 2010-2013 under President Barack Obama. She also served on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign as a fundraiser and a member of her foreign advisory team.

    ORANGEVALE (CBS13) – One person is dead after a car chase ends in a major crash in Orangevale late Tuesday night.
