• More Than 325,000 Older Jeeps SUVs Being Recalled

    DETROIT (AP) — Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 325,000 older Jeep SUVs in North America to fix a suspension problem that could limit a driver’s control of the vehicles.
    The recall covers Liberty SUVs from the 2004 through 2007 model years. Fiat Chrysler says water can get into the rear lower control arms and cause rust and possibly cracks. That could hurt a driver’s ability to control the SUVs and cause a crash.

    ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Elk Grove’s City Council voted to get rid of its current City Manager and will pay her a severance of nearly $300,000.
    Laura S. Gill was appointed to the position in May 2008. She announced her resignation Wednesday and will step down Friday, May 11.
    The majority of the council voted to replace Gill during the April 11 closed session. She agreed and provided a notice of intent to resign immediately.

    ARDEN ARCADE (CBS13) – Authorities are trying to get a person to come down from the roof of an Arden Arcade store early Thursday afternoon.
