• 1 Person Killed In Fatal 3-Vehicle Crash On Highway 49 In North Auburn

    PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) – Northbound lanes of Highway 49 in north Auburn are back open after a fatal three-car accident forced its closure this morning.
    The crash happened just after 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 49 and Joeger Road, according to a CHP statement.
    One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
    Investigators say neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor in the crash.

  • Report: Man At Center Of Foresthill Standoff Sets Fire To Home

    FORESTHILL (CBS13) – A suspect barricaded inside of a Foresthill home has started a fire inside the residence, according to a Placer County Sheriff’s Department statement.
    Sheriff’s department detectives and deputies converged this morning on the mobile home at 6350 Baltimore Mine Road in Foresthill to serve a search warrant but the suspect refused to come out from home and has reportedly started a fire.
