    YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK (CBS13) – The search continues Monday for a hiker who was last seen Wednesday in Yosemite Valley.
    Alexander Joseph Sevier, an active-duty member of the U.S. Navy, arrived alone at the park on May 1 and was staying at Housekeeping Camp. His neighbors told rangers he had been going for day hikes by himself during the day and returning to camp each night, according to a statement from the National Parks Service.

  • Man’s Body Found Lying Near Train Tracks In Sonora

    SONORA (CBS13) – Two teens stumbled across the body of a man lying near railroad tracks in Sonora Monday.
    Around 8 a.m., authorities responded the area of Symon’s Lane and the tracks after they receiving reports of a man’s body. Two teens say they found the body while walking to school and alerted police, according to a statement from the Sonora Police Department.
    The identity of the man is unknown, and there are no visible signs of foul play.

  • Authorities Searching For Clues After Body Found In Feather River

    LIVE OAK (CBS13) – Sutter County authorities are looking for clues after a body was found Sunday in the Feather River in Live Oak.
    The body was located south of the Live Oak recreational boat launch near where a missing college student’s truck and cell phone were found. There is no information linking those two cases.
    The undersheriff tells CBS13 the autopsy on a body that was found will be done by a coroner in Sacramento County either today or Tuesday.

  • 1 Person Killed, 2 Injured In Fairfield Shooting

    FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Police are investigating the scene of a shooting that left a person dead Monday.
    Gunfire reportedly rang out about 4:30 this morning on Crowley Lane near Texas Street.
    Investigators arrived on the scene and found three people with gunshot wounds.
    One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The two others were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

  • Plane Crashes Near Lake Berryessa, Killing 2

    NAPA COUNTY (CBS13) – Two people have been pronounced dead after a small plane crashed in Napa County.
    Just after 10 a.m., the plane crashed onto land in the area of Little Portuguese Cove on the east end of the lake, between Pleasure Cove Marina and Markley Cove Resort, according to Napa Sheriff’s Office spokesman Cpt. Steve Blower.
