  • Norovirus Outbreak Reported At Several Yolo County Schools, Including UC Davis

    WOODLAND (CBS13) – Yolo County health officials are asking residents to help stop the spread of Norovirus after a series of outbreaks in the area.
    Officials said Friday that at least five K-12  schools in Woodland and several schools in West Sacramento have reported cases of the gastrointestinal illness.
    At least 40 students and seven staff members at UC Davis are also reportedly showing signs of Norovirus.

    STOCKTON (CBS13) – An 83-year-old woman has died in a hit-and-run crash in Stockton, authorities say.
    The scene was at the intersection of Eighth Street and Mariposa Road.
    Early Thursday afternoon, Stockton police say a woman driving a car struck a pedestrian in the area. The pedestrian, identified as an elderly woman, was pronounced dead.

  • Valero Refinery Flares Due To Power Outage, Prompting Evacuations Downwind

    BENICIA (CBS13) – The latest on a flaring incident at the Valero refinery in Benicia:
    9:15 a.m.
    Authorities say power was restored to the refinery at 8:35 a.m.
    A shelter in place remained in effect for students at the nearby Tuner and Semple elementary schools.

    “One after another in just the few minutes I was here,” she said.
