  MODESTO (CBS13) – There’s no need to be concerned if you’re seeing a river of red in Modesto, officials say.
  The Modesto Irrigation District says they’ve been getting some calls from a few alarmed people on Monday reporting how canals are running with red water.
  It’s a surprising sight, but officials say it’s just some red dye they’ve put in the water to try and track how herbicides move through the irrigation system.

  PHILLIPS STATION, Calif. (AP) — State water managers say California’s springtime snowpack is nearly double its normal levels following five years of historic drought.
  They say all the snow is beginning to melt, increasing the risk of flooding for communities downstream.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Emergency crews are working to rescue a dog that fell 15 feet into a storm drain.
  The storm drain is in the area of Amisfield Court and Baybridge Court in Sacramento, according to a statement from the Sacramento Fire Department.
  There’s no word yet on whether the dog was injured in the fall or how long it has been in the drain.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A man has been taken into custody after allegedly throwing gasoline on homes in a Sacramento neighborhood early Monday morning.
  Burn marks are the terrifying evidence that are now left on one homeowner’s house on Majorca Circle.

  The accident occurred at 7:31 p.m., when a black Ford Explorer drifted off the road and collided with a tree.
  The vehicle overturned with three passengers — two adult males and one adult female — inside of it.
  All three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are still on scene, with one lane of traffic moving as of 9:00 p.m.
