    Butte County Sheriff: Evacuation May Not End Until Oroville Dam Fixes Completed
    OROVILLE, Calif. (CBS/AP) — The Butte County sheriff says repairs to the Oroville Dam spillway may need to be made before residents are allowed to return home.
    Sheriff Kory Honea didn’t say how long the fixes could take and didn’t give a timetable for lifting the evacuation order. He says it was difficult to decide to ask people to leave their homes, and that their primary purpose is to ensure safety.

    OROVILLE (CBS13) — The Butte County Sheriff’s Department has issued an evacuation notice for the low levels of Oroville and areas downstream from the Oroville Dam.
    The emergency spillway is eroding which could lead to a failure of the structure sending an uncontrolled release of flood water from Lake Oroville
    The Feather river will experience a rapid rise in water level affecting surrounding areas as the main spillway releases are increased to 100,000 cfs from the current 55,000 cfs.
