    Fire Station 1 targets end of year completion
    The city’s new Fire Station 1 has been under construction since fall of last year. However, development may need further time.
    “We hit some delays due to weather, but we’re looking at November or December completion,” Fire Marshal Matthew Marshall told The State Journal.

    Western Hills’ Tolentino advances to National FFA Agriscience Fair
    Western Hills freshman Ayla Tolentino has qualified to compete at the 2026 National FFA Agriscience Fair in the Social Systems category, Division 1.
    Tolentino earned her spot on the national stage following her performance at the state-level competition, where she took first place in Division 1 Social Systems while completing her eighth-grade year at Bondurant Middle School. This marks her second consecutive trip to the national event, where she placed eighth in the nation last year.

    Overnight alternating lane closures begin Friday on Interstate 64 East and West in Franklin County.
    According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, overnight alternating lane closures will occur on I-64 East and West between mile markers 53 and 58 (between U.S. 127 and U.S. 60) during overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night beginning Friday through Friday, Aug. 28 (overnight work will not occur on the night of Saturday, Aug. 22).
