• Porch Pirate Captured On Video Stealing Pet Supplies

    DENVER (CBS4) – Denver police want to find a woman accused of stealing packages off of a porch.

    The homeowner lives near the University of Denver campus. He shared video with CBS4 from his home surveillance camera that shows the woman walking up to the front of his home and then snatching up two packages. She then appears to get away in a white Dodge Durango.
    Police suspect the woman was following a FedEx truck around the neighborhood which was making deliveries.

  • Aurora Hosts Pride Celebration For The First Time

    DENVER (CBS4) – Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs all have celebrations, so Pride activists in Aurora thought they should, too.

    On Saturday the gay and lesbian community hosted its first-ever Pride Celebration in Aurora outside the municipal center building.

    The event had 60 vendors, a sporting area, a kid’s zone, food trucks and entertainment.

  • School Supplies Handed Out To Children In Need

    AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – There were several events held to help low income students get school supplies across the Denver metro area this weekend.
    Many families are getting ready for school to start, and some are getting some help with those expensive supplies.
    Nonprofits held events in Denver’s Stapleton neighborhood, Westminster and in two different locations. One of those locations was North Middle School on Montview Boulevard in Aurora.

  • Renters Plan To Move After Home Keeps Catching Fire

    BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4) – A family renting a home off of 144th and Irving Street was displaced,after the house was struck by lightning. The strike caused a chain reaction, setting the home on fire on multiple occasions.
    Lori Young, the home’s renter, said the initial fire started just after 4:30 a.m. Friday.

  • Early Morning Fire Destroys Windsor Mill

    WINDSOR, Colo. (CBS4) – A 118-year-old feed and flour mill in the midst of remodeling burned to the ground early Sunday morning in Windsor.
    The fire started before 2 a.m. and was still smoking at dawn.

    DENVER (CBS4)– An 86-year-old Colorado woman has brought back memories of a trip like no other. She’s Marilyn Hickey, a Christian religious leader who went to Pakistan.

    SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Following the drowning death of someone who was cliff jumping at Green Mountain Reservoir, authorities in Summit County have declared the activity is illegal there.

  • CU Boulder Ships New Climate Instrument To Florida For November Launch

    By Chris SpearsDENVER (CBS4) – A new space tool built at CU Boulder is now at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida where it will be prepared for a launch to space.
    It’s called the Total and Spectral Solar Irradiance Sensor, or TSIS-1, and it will monitor how much sunlight hits the earth. That information will help study our planet’s climate.
    The solar instrument is currently planned to hitch a ride to the International Space Station on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in November.

    DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies placed rookie left-hander Kyle Freeland on the 10-day disabled Saturday, a day after he was forced to leave his start in the first inning because of a left groin strain.

  • ‘Quad Squad’ Quadruplets Travel To Colorado For Preemie Reunion

    AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)– A set of quadruplets and their parents traveled from Kansas to Colorado this weekend to participate in a reunion for children who were born prematurely.
    Alyssa Sallaska, Carter Sallaska, Miles Sallaska and Bently Sallaska were born about three years ago at the University of Colorado Hospital. They were born at 25 weeks and all weighed just a little more than one pound apiece.

    DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4) – A bear broke into an SUV in the Durango area early Friday and tore it apart.

  • Victim Runs Into Restaurant, Asks For Help After Getting Shot

    DENVER (CBS4) – A man ran into a restaurant asking for help after he was shot before 9 a.m. Saturday in West Denver.
