    DENVER (CBS4) – Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware is now the sole owner of the ninth spot on the NFL’s all-time sack list after his hit on Colts quarterback Andrew Luck Sunday in the second quarter.
    Ware now has 136 1/2 career sacks.

    DENVER (CBS4) – Denver Broncos placekicker Brandon McManus just kicked his 200th point in the NFL with a field goal in the first quarter against the Indianapolis Colts.
    McManus became the team’s regular kicker when he beat out Connor Barth in training camp at the start of the 2015 season.
    The Broncos traded the New York Giants for McManus in 2014 after preseason, when then-kicker Matt Prater was suspended by the NFL for four games.

    THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) – Emotions ran high at a vigil in Thornton Saturday night as friends remembered 16-year-old Haley Vargas, the teen they say was shot and killed at a party Saturday morning.

    DENVER (AP) – Jon Gray thought a complete-game performance was reason enough to celebrate. Little did he know he’d also etched his name into the Colorado Rockies’ record book.
    Gray struck out a franchise-record 16 and pitched a four-hitter to lead the Rockies to an 8-0 victory over the San Diego Padres on Saturday night.

    BOULDER, Colo. (AP) – The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office says a man who was shot by a deputy has died.
    Investigators say 37-year-old Adrian Shaffer, of Boulder, was agitated and trying to “pick fights” with passing motorists on U.S. Highway 287 south of von Sept. 10. When the deputy arrived, authorities say Shaffer pulled a handgun and opened fire. Deputy Teri Javes returned fire and was not njured in the shooting.

    The retrial for Lester Jones Is set to begin Nov. 21.
    Jones is accused in Birgfeld’s disappearance back in 2007. Her remains were found in 2012.
    Birgfeld lived a double life as an escort. Jones was one of the last people to call her.
