    Aspen police arrested a man on the pedestrian mall near Wagner Park Friday after he shouted threats and profanities at passersby.
    Steven Zimmermann, in town from Dallas with his family, said the man was clearly intoxicated and was “making no sense.”
    The man was talking to himself and shouted toward teenagers and other young children, but when he said he’d “open fire on everyone here,” Zimmermann’s brother called police.

    (AP) — Veterinarians at Colorado State University have diagnosed a horse in Weld County with West Nile Virus, the first equine case recorded this year.
    State Department of Agriculture officials say the transmission of the disease varies from year to year and depends on a number of factors, including the number of mosquitoes. Infected horses can display symptoms that include head tilt, muscle tremors, stumbling, lack of coordination, weakness of the limbs or partial paralysis.

    The group turned in 185,000 signatures on Friday.If the initiative gets on the ballot and passes, it would take 55 percent approval for an amendment to pass instead of a simple majority. Signatures would also need to be collected from voters all over the state, not just Denver.

    DENVER (CBS4)– A man says he’s witnessed more than 100 violent incidents on the 16th Street Mall over the past seven months. Some of those include menacing and someone swinging a crowbar.
    Terry Darnell lives in an apartment above the popular pedestrian shopping area that has been plagued in recent months by crime.
    Darnell said about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, at least two men clobbered someone and knocked him out. He said the violence is something that happens about every other night.
