    EAGLE, Colo. (CBS4) – Two smaller wildfires that broke out in Colorado on Wednesday have been 100 percent contained.
    The approximately 20-acre Red Table Fire near Eagle was burning southeast of Sylvan Lake. According to Mike Porras with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, normal operations at Sylvan Lake State Park resumed on Monday.“Visitors are invited to enjoy a variety of day-use and overnight activities, including hiking, fishing, boating and camping,” Porras said in a statement.

    BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – A man who mailed white powder to Jewish groups in Boulder will be spending a year on work release at the Boulder County Jail.
    Prosecutors say in April 2015 Jeffrey Klinkel sent a letter with white powder to the Boulder Jewish Community Center and the congregation Har Hashem. Klinkel wound up pleading guilty earlier this year.
    Klinkel’s fingerprints were found on both letters. The white powder turned out to be corn starch.

    DENVER (CBS4) – A teenager who was struck by a car last week while riding a bike or skateboard in a bike lane with friends has died.

    ISTANBUL (AP) — Following a failed coup against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the government moved swiftly Sunday to shore up his power and remove those perceived as an enemy, saying it has detained 6,000 people.
    The crackdown targeted not only generals and soldiers, but a wide swath of the judiciary that has sometimes blocked Erdogan, raising concerns that the effort to oust him will push Turkey even further into authoritarian rule.
