    ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has caught up on a three-year backlog of sex assault kits. The kits have been tested and results were sent to law enforcement.
    It puts investigators closer to solving hundreds of cases. Testing the kits is just the first step in bringing justice to the victims.

    Hayden Pass Fire Now 20 Percent Contained
    COALDALE, Colo. (AP) – Firefighters say a wildfire is continuing to burn near Coaldale, where they have it 20 percent contained and are protecting structures.
    Incident commanders said Sunday that they are letting the fire burn in a nearby wilderness area because they don’t want to send firefighters into dangerous places.
    People began evacuating July 10 after the fire flared up from a lightning strike several days earlier. It has burned 25 square miles.

    Police In Greeley Investigating Fatal Shooting
    GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) – Investigators are looking into a deadly shooting in Greeley that occurred Saturday morning.
    Police arrived at a home to find Paul Anthony Ortiz, 26, with a gunshot wound. He later died at the hospital.
    Neighbors said they heard several gunshots.
    “A person of interest was contacted and released with no charges at this time. Additional information was gained on the possible identity of the suspect in this case,” Sgt. Joe Tymkowych with Greeley Police said

    ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Charges have been dropped against a school bus driver with the Cherry Creek School District who was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
