    AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)– Maria Chavez recently paid off her mobile home in Aurora but discovered the land owners are attempting to rezone. The rezoning proposal attempts to change the land from a mobile home district to a transit-oriented development.

    Boulder detectives arrested Jimmy Andrew Suggs, 28, and Zackary Ryan Kuykendall, 26, on Sunday.
    After the fire broke out on Saturday, they reportedly evacuated to Nederland High School. The sheriff said tips from the community helped investigators find the two suspects.

    La Plata County Jail Inmate Dies, Foul Play Not Suspected
    DURANGO, Colo. (AP) – Authorities say a 67-year-old inmate in the La Plata County jail has died.
    The sheriff’s office says deputies found the man unresponsive in his cell Sunday and tried to resuscitate him. Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he died.
    Authorities say no foul play is suspected but the cause of death wasn’t immediately known. An autopsy was planned.

    DENVER (AP) — The oil and gas industry may not be to blame if northeastern Colorado tap water is so full of methane it can be set on fire, researchers say.
    Fewer than 5 percent of the region’s water wells that were checked for methane pollution had been tainted by oil and gas leaks, according to a study released Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.

    DENVER (CBS4) – The Colorado Department of Transportation on Tuesday will start collecting tolls on the north Interstate 25 express lanes between U.S. 36 and 120th Avenue.
    The tolls will change in price depending on the time of day.

    Grass Fire Off Morrison Exit Fully Contained
    MORRISON, Colo. (CBS4) – A grass fire that broke out near the Morrison Exit along Interstate 70 has been fully contained.
    The fire broke out on Sunday afternoon and burned five acres. The blaze caused westbound lanes of I-70 to be closed at C-470.
    According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the fire was caused by trash that blew out of a truck that hit a power line.
    The fire didn’t cause any major property damage.

    DECKERS, Colo. (CBS4)– The Spring Gulch Fire had burned 11 acres in the Pike National Forest about three miles south of Deckers on Monday.

    A poorly extinguished campfire, smoldering as hot, dry winds whipped down from mountain peaks, sparked the fire that on Sunday destroyed three homes and spread across more than 600 acres, forcing evacuations of nearly 2,000 people southwest of Boulder.
