    GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4)– The Colorado State Patrol investigated a serious crash between two semi-trucks and a sedan in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 at 6th Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
    Emergency responders rushed to the crash at mile marker 261 just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.Drivers were urged to find alternate routes because of delays in the area due to the crash investigation and cleanup.The extent of injuries is unclear.What caused the crash is being investigated.

    Colorado Group Gets Rushmore Concession, Parking Contract
    KEYSTONE, S.D. (AP) — A group that has raised millions of dollars for Mount Rushmore National Memorial has lost its contract to manage the park’s parking operations.
    The National Park Service says it’s awarded a 10-year contract to Colorado-based Xanterra Parks and Resorts Inc. to operate the parking garage, as well as food, beverage, merchandise and souvenir sales. The contract goes into effect in October.

    DENVER (AP) — The military will pay $4.3 million for filters in public water systems outside Colorado Springs and is speeding up its investigation into whether potentially harmful chemicals in the water came from nearby Peterson Air Force Base.
    The Air Force announced the steps Tuesday after a preliminary review showed that a firefighting foam used during training exercises decades ago at Peterson may be the source of the contaminants.

    AURORA, Colo. (AP) — Fire officials say one person has been injured after fireworks caused a blaze that damaged two homes in Aurora.

    NEW YORK (AP) — More than 500,000 hoverboards are being recalled after dozens of reports of fires and spewing smoke.
    There have been 99 reports to the Consumer Product Safety Commission of battery packs that have overheated, exploded or caught fire, the U.S. regulator said Wednesday.
    There have been at least 18 reports of injuries, such as burns to the neck, legs or arms, according to the CPSC. Property damage has also been reported.

    DENVER (AP) — Colorado officials say homicides increased by nearly 15 percent statewide last year while rapes increased by almost 11 percent.
    The Colorado Bureau of Investigation’s annual crime report released Tuesday said overall reported crimes rose more than 6 percent in 2015 compared with 2014.
