    Grass Fire Claims 3 Structures, 12 Vehicles In Arapahoe County Near Bennett
    ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Firefighters from eight different agencies battled a grass fire that broke out in Arapahoe County Sunday morning near the town of Bennett.
    According to Julie Brooks with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, the fire, burning on property located at 7147 Kincaid Street, claimed two sheds, a guesthouse and a dozen vehicles.
    Crews now have the fire under control and were working to put out hot spots. Two fire fighters were treated for minor injuries.

    At 2 p.m. Sunday the temperature hit 86°F at Denver International Airport which set a new record high for the date.
    The old record was 85°F set in 1996.
    It was even hotter on the eastern plains where several communities saw highs above 90°F.

    DENVER (The Sports Xchange) – The Denver Nuggets exercised the third-year options on guard Gary Harris and center Jusuf Nurkic for the 2016-17 season.
    Harris, the 19th overall pick of the 2014 NBA draft, averaged 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game as a rookie in 2014-15. He is averaging 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.67 steals while shooting .500 (5-for-10) from beyond the 3-point arc through the Nuggets’ first three preseason games.

    Man Drowns While Attempting To Swim Across Marshall Lake
    BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Deputies are investigating a drowning at Marshall Lake in Boulder County.
    The lake is located near 66th Street and Coal Creek Drive in unincorporated Boulder County.
    Deputies got a call that a man was trying to swim across the lake but hadn’t been seen for approximately 6 or 7 minutes. Search and rescue crews recovered his body.
    The 58-year-old man’s identity will be released once all family members are notified.
