  BOULDER, Colo. (AP) – Michael Adkins and Christian Powell became the first Colorado tailbacks to eclipse 100 yards rushing in the same game in nearly five years, helping the Buffaloes snap a nine-game losing skid by beating Massachusetts 48-14 on Saturday.

• Meth Lab Discovered In Hotel, Hazmat Team Responds

  LONE TREE, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Lone Tree say they are dealing with a hazmat situation at a hotel in the Park Meadows Mall area.

  The hotel is called Extended Stay America, and it’s located on the 8700 block of South Yosemite Street.
  Police said a meth lab was discovered in one of the rooms of the hotel.
  Two people, a man and a woman, were arrested. Officials with Lone Tree police said they were taken to the Douglas County Detention Center.

• More Than 3,000 People Help Nonprofits On Xcel Energy Day Of Service

  THORNTON, Colol (CBS4) – In its 5th year, Xcel Energy’s Day of Service is bigger than ever.
  Held on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Denver metro area and other parts of the state, the event saw more than 3,000 people helping 60 nonprofits.
  “This is the largest day that we’ve had in the last five years,” said Holly Velasquez-Horvath, a spokeswoman for Xcel Energy.

• Paraglider’s Body Recovered In Ute Creek Area

  EAGLE, Colo. (CBS4) – A man from Eagle is dead after crashing his paraglider.
  Thomas Breen, 39, hit the side of a mountain in the Ute Creek Area, the Vail Daily reports.
  It happened Wednesday evening after he took off with a group of other paragliders, and Breen died at the scene.
  It took a dozen Vail mountain rescuers to recover his body.

• Work On 10 Mining Sites Suspended After Gold Creek Mine Spill

  (AP) — The following mining sites are affected by a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency decision to suspend investigations and some cleanup work at locations with similarities to a mine involved in a 3-million-gallon wastewater spill near Silverton in August:
  —Leviathan Mine, near Markleeville, California. An open-pit sulfur mine that closed in 1962. Acid mine water drains from the 250-acre site and has killed off aquatic life in nearby creeks.

  BOULDER, Colo (AP) – CU Buffaloes defensive back Afolabi Laguda was called for targeting a UMass player during Saturday afternoon’s game at Folsom Field.
  Laguda was called for targeting when he hit Sharif Custis with the crown of his helmet as the UMass tight end tried to haul in a touchdown pass late in the second quarter.
  After a review, the ruling stood.

• Missing Minnesota Hunter’s Body Found In Colorado

  STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The body of a 43-year-old Minnesota hunter has been found in northern Colorado.
  The Routt County Sheriff’s Office says Richard Harkins, of Duluth, was found Friday.
  Harkins had been missing since Monday while on a bow hunting trip with others in the Routt National Forest.
  An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death although authorities noted that Harkins was not feeling well Sunday night.

• Pedestrian Killed While Walking Across Parker Road

  AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – One person is dead after police say they were hit by a vehicle after trying to cross Parker Road on foot.
  The crash happened at midday Saturday south of Interstate 225, and officials with the Colorado State Patrol say the driver stayed on scene.
  The pedestrian has not been identified. Authorities said it appears they were crossing the road “outside of the crosswalk area in front of traffic.”
  Some lanes of Parker Road were closed following the incident.

• Suspect Injured During Shootout Following Bank Robbery

  BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4) – A suspected bank robber only got about a mile away from the scene of the crime on Friday before police caught up with him and the gunfire started.
  The robbery took place in the afternoon at TCF Bank, and emergency dispatchers in Broomfied put out a “code one, channel one” alert to all officers.

  DENVER (AP) — Denver International Airport saw a slight decrease in passenger traffic in July compared to last year.
  Airport officials said Friday that 5,019,260 passengers traveled through DIA in July, a 1-percent decrease from July 2014. Officials say the decline is mostly due to Frontier Airlines decreasing its seat capacity.

  DENVER (CBS4) – One person died overnight in a rollover crash on Interstate 70.
  The crash happened at approximately 2:30 a.m. near Pecos Street.The highway was closed westbound at Pecos for several hours.

  DENVER (AP) — A judge has ordered Denver’s district attorney to explain why he did not prosecute a sheriff’s deputy who slammed a handcuffed inmate into a courtroom wall.

  COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)– A new state law in Colorado could keep a man who is facing his ninth DUI conviction off the streets.
  Police in Colorado Springs arrested William Nance on Monday after officers said he struck a car.An officer said he found two open cans of beer in his car.Nance has eight previous DUI convictions.
