    STORRS, Conn. (AP) – The University of Connecticut has broken ground for a new $95 million engineering and science building.
    Gov. Dannel P. Malloy joined UConn president Susan Herbst and other dignitaries for the Wednesday ceremony at the site of the planned 118,000-square-foot building.
    It is designed to house laboratories for UConn’s genomics, biomedical, chemical engineering, and cyber system research programs.

    NEW HARTFORD –  State police confirmed the body found Sunday in Brodie Pond was that of a woman who went missing in January.
    State police said Wednesday they identified the woman as Patricia Cole, 53, of New Hartford.     (New Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – State police have released the name of a woman whose body was discovered Sunday in Brodie Pond in New Hartford.

    (Bridgeport, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Bridgeport fire officials say 21 people were displaced as a result of a early morning fire.
    The blaze broke out in a multi-family home on Berkshire Avenue.
    Firefighters fought the blaze for a time until crews were pulled out for an exterior attack.
