  • Man pleads guilty to manslaughter in crash that killed UB professor

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Kristofer Gregorek pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter for his involvement in the I-90 crash that killed UB professor Ellen Volpe.
    Prosecutors say Gregorek, a truck driver, was going 70 MPH while shopping for a gift on his phone when he rear-ended a car driven by Ellen Volpe in June.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Interim Buffalo Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood has been nominated by Mayor Byron Brown to be the department’s permanent leader.

  • Judge tosses case of hunter charged with manslaughter

    TOWN OF SHERMAN, N.Y. (WIVB) — The case of a man charged with killing a woman while illegally hunting has been put on hold.
    Thomas Jadlowski, 34, was charged with second-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of Rosemary Billquist, 43, in Chautauqua County.
    Officials say Jadlowski was hunting shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 22, when he mistook Billquist for a deer and shot her.

    CORNING, N.Y. (18 NEWS) — An RIT student and her father have been indicted on murder charges in the death of a Corning woman back in August of 2017.

    The list is comprised of people who worked in New York’s executive, legislative or judicial branches at any point during 2017.
