• UB football player suing university following two-year suspension

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A UB football player has filed a lawsuit against the university after being suspended for two years, according to the UB student newspaper The Spectrum.
    The student was found guilty of harassment and possession of a weapon by a university administrative panel for allegedly pointing an airsoft gun at his teammates in July.

  • Buffalo man charged with robbing West Seneca Kmart

    WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police in West Seneca say a Buffalo man robbed a Kmart on Orchard Park Rd.
    According to police, the incident happened on Nov. 18.
    Witnesses told police that Paul Kowalski Jr., 44, placed a candy bar on a conveyor belt, and when the cashier opened their register drawer, Kowalski brandished a knife and demanded cash.
    After this, the cashier gave Kowalski the money and he ran out of the store, police say.

    Buffalo police say Ahmed Alshami walked into a 7-Eleven on Wednesday and demanded the cashier put money into a bag. Authorities say he kept his hand in his pocket.
