  Anchorage Police say a man robbed a convenience store early Friday morning with a fake weapon.
  Just before 4:30 Friday morning, officers were called to the Tesoro gas station in the 100 block of East North Lights Boulevard on reports of an armed robbery.
  Police sat the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Christopher Gunderson, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene on foot.

• Mudslide carries cars near Sheep Mountain Lodge

  After Mother Nature dumped buckets of rain in the Sutton area, a large mudslide occurred, overtaking cars and boats on the way down.
  Thursday night, the mudslide appeared near Sheep Mountain Lodge off the Glenn Highway in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.
  A witness says the mudslide carried vehicles and boats that were in its path between the Lodge and the Sheep Mountain Airport.

  Anchorage Police say an illegal hash oil laboratory is what caused an apartment explosion Saturday.
  Jivka Stankovoci lives a few doors down from the apartment where it happened on the 4500 block of Folker Street.

  The remains of the two people missing in Marmot Bay have been located.
  The Alaska State Troopers have identified the deceased as Joshua Osborne, 18, and Abigail Osborne, 22, both of Wasilla.
  The troopers followed up on the incident from last Thursday where a fishing vessel, the Miss Destinee, capsized in Marmot Bay.

  A fireworks-related accident in Haines the night before the Fourth of July left one person with significant injuries.
  Local EMS responded to the scene near Jones Point.
  According to firefighter Tim Holm, witnesses said fireworks had been used to create a homemade “sparkler bomb.”
  The device was apparently lit and then fell over.

  ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – A federal health agency is warning of the effects of undercooked game meat after two outbreaks of trichinosis in western Alaska.

  Juneau Police are searching for a man they say kicked another man in the head, sending him to the hospital where he later died.
