  From home builders to mill workers, “Working: The Musical” showcases multiple jobs, and what those workers like and don’t like about their occupation. It’s based off of a book called “Working” by Studs Terkel in 1972, according to the first copyright. It was adapted into a musical play a few years later, with lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.

  Bogoslof Volcano has exploded more than two dozen times since December, but not all eruptions are created equal.
  On Friday, for instance, the Aleutian volcano spit ash about 20,000 feet into the air during a brief half-hour blast that dusted Bogoslof Island and not much else.

  A Coast Guard aircrew assisted four people aboard a fishing vessel in danger of sinking late Feb. 2.
  The 53-foot F/V Pacific Star was taking on water in the vicinity of Fairweather Ground, about 50 miles southeast of Lituya Bay.
  The captain called Coast Guard Sector Juneau at 9 a.m. Thursday. He reported the fiberglass longliner was taking on water through a hatch, toward the rear of the vessel.

  PETERSBURG, Alaska (AP) – A seafood processing company will stop canning salmon at its facility in the southeast Alaska city of Petersburg this year in response to a growing demand for frozen salmon.
  KFSK-FM reported Tuesday that Tom Sunderland with Ocean Beauty Seafoods says the company will make more money selling frozen salmon than canned salmon this year. He says the company will focus on freezing salmon at its plant northwest of Petersburg in Excursion Inlet.

  FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – Fairbanks police have arrested a sport utility vehicle driver suspected of striking a boy on a bicycle and leaving the crash scene.
  Police say the SUV dragged the bike at least six blocks.
  The boy suffered injuries police describe as “non-life-threatening.”

  An Anchorage police officer was stabbed shortly after 12 a.m. Wednesday during an altercation with a man officers were attempting to subdue.

  Anchorage witnessed a record 34 homicides in 2016. Property crime also rose compared to the year before, with the number of commercial burglaries and robberies making a significant jump. The Anchorage Police Department said increased drug use is likely a major factor in the rise in crime.

• Alaska ranks worst in the nation for wastewater systems, report card shows

  Alaska got a report card on its infrastructure for the first time Tuesday. Overall, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) gave the state a C-minus.
