  FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – Alaska State Troopers say a 43-year-old North Pole woman has been found dead following a fire in Fairbanks.
  Troopers say they were notified late Thursday night by the Steese Volunteer Fire Department about a Tungsten Trail structure fire. Troopers say the body of a woman tentatively identified as Robyn Evans was found after responders could enter the home.

  ANCHORAGE — Anchorage animal control officials are investigating after a dog was found with its mouth taped shut.
  KTVA-TV reports that the dog was found Tuesday running loose in Anchorage with tape around its neck and running down its back.

  PALMER, Alaska — A 42-year-old Wasilla man died when his truck left the roadway and crashed near Palmer.
  James Eldred was driving just before 5 a.m. Thursday north on Stringfield Road, Alaska State Troopers said. His pickup left the road and struck a telephone pole.
  Emergency responders declared him dead at the scene.

  ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Residents of the central and eastern Aleutian Islands could see strong winds Saturday.
  The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Unalaska and the eastern Aleutians that begins Friday night and ends Saturday night.
