• Alaska Legislature shutters offices on Friday afternoons

  As a cost-saving measure, 22 legislative information offices around the state are shuttered starting this Friday afternoon.The offices will be closed every Friday afternoon while the legislature is not in session.   A new report shows more fish are moving to Arctic waters. The U.S. Geological Survey and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management teamed up to create the inventory, which describes more than 100 species of fish found in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas — including 20 species new to the region.

• Police, troopers looking for robbery suspect near Dillingham Airport

  Dillingham Police and Alaska State Troopers are searching for man who is wanted on a robbery charge and suspected of trafficking narcotics in Dillingham.
  Christian Andre Young, 24, of Anchorage, was last seen on foot in the area between the airport and the Airport Y-intersection.
  Young is wanted on an arrest warrant for robbery.
